Orange Zest, Cranberry and Dark Chocolate Cookies

Not so nutritious, but definitely delicious! This recipe is designed for chocolate and fruit lovers.

  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Zest of 1 medium orange
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries


  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar well. Add egg and vanilla; continue beating. Add flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and orange zest to bowl. Mix until just combined.┬áStir in dark chocolate chunks and dried cranberries with a spatula.
  • Measure out heaping tablespoonfuls of dough, and place on cookie sheets. Make sure to leave one-inch spaces between balls. Flatten balls slightly before baking.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until edges are set and bottoms of cookies are light brown.
